SUMMARY

Come down to the Oxford Playhouse between 30th April and 3rd May to see the nation's favourite play on its 10th year anniversary!

There is no period so remote as the recent past … The History Boys follows eight Sheffield students, fresh from their A-Levels, as they begin the final push for what their Headmaster sees as the ultimate prize – a place at either Oxford or Cambridge.

Burdened by academic pressures and wracked with sexual insecurities, the students throw themselves into hilarious and intriguing classroom experiences; all under the supervision of eccentric English master, Hector.

Written by Alan Bennett, this Olivier and Tony Award-winning play combines realism, humour and pathos to question what an education really means.
