Screw The Looking Glass

SUMMARY

"In the bloodiest times,

There are still good people."

A noble child is abandoned in the heat and fury of civil war. Grusha, a servant girl, risks everything to protect him. When the mother returns to demand her son, it is up to Azdak – a former poacher turned judge – to decide the boy’s fate.

“The judge was always a rascal,

Now the rascal shall be the judge.”

Brecht’s satirical comic masterpiece explores the far-reaching consequences of our smallest moral choices, pitting individual integrity against corruption and injustice. Can love triumph over selfishness and greed?
