Ulysses

Corpus Christi Owlets

SUMMARY

Corpus Owlets presents a radical re-imagining of Sophocles' little known masterpiece, transported from the ancient battlefields of Troy to the First World War.

As the Great Powers reach a stalemate and the hope of a quick resolution to the conflict dwindles, the key to victory may well lie in the secret plans of the wounded and bitter Philoctetes.

Charged with the recovery of the marooned soldier, the proud, pragmatic war hero Ulysses sets sail for the tiny island where he abandoned his one-time comrade years before.

With the help of Neoptolemus, a naive recruit overshadowed by the legacy of his father Achilles, he is determined to secure victory for his country- at any cost.
