SUMMARY

Polly Teale's adaptation of 'Jane Eyre' centers on Jane's relationship with Bertha Mason - the original 'mad woman in the attic' - at once her childhood playmate and her alter-ego. Joined together in adolescent sexual exploration, Jane is then forced to lock away this embodiment of her passions and desires in order to survive in Victorian society. Bertha is made to watch Jane suffer through the ordeals of a torturous school life to her heart-break at the hands of her fierce and commanding employer, Mr Rochester, but refuses to stay locked up for long...

This Christmas, Red Room Productions present a visually exciting and psychologically compelling, 'electro-Victorian' take on Bronte's timeless classic.
