Gap Year Musical

SUMMARY

Gap Year tells the story of Tom, an eighteen-year-old student who avoids university by going travelling around Australia, but quickly finds himself totally unsuited to the lifestyle. Full of the characters and songs Tom meets on his journey, Gap Year is a musical ode to the strange and wonderful world of backpacking.

Gap Year is a new musical comedy directed by acclaimed young director, Ferghal Crowley (2012 John Fernald Award Winner, StoneCrabs Theatre). Original Music and Lyrics by Patrick Stockbridge, a composer and orchestrator who recently wrote a number of songs for Paul Nobbs’ The Boy Who Stole Christmas at the Queen Mother Theatre and won the University of Birmingham's Composition Prize upon his graduation, and Tim Gilvin, whose musical, In the Rush Hour, is currently available on iTunes after being performed by GMTG in Birmingham. Together they form Teepee, the company behind the production. The Book is written by stand-up comic, Dan John.
