The Awkward Silence

SUMMARY

The Awkward Silence have written some comedy for BBC Radio Oxford. Before you hear it on the radio, they'd like to perform it for you. Live. (That was 'live' the adjective, not the command.)

Assisted by Adam Lebovits, Max Fletcher and Liam Shaw, they bring you a half-hour of unbelievably tense detective narrative, with guns and shit:

'SHRAPNEL & FOGG'

Episode 1 - The Salamander

A brand-new detective partnership. An encrypted letter. A string of bizarre crimes. An arch nemesis known only as 'The Salamander'.

Like it or not, Detectives Alexander J. Shrapnel and Neville Fogg realise that there comes a time in every man's life when he has to say, "I've really got to put a stop to this guy who's going round doing pretty weird crimes and then leaving a dead salamander at the scene of all of them".

The Awkward Silence:

"This lot could be good...very good in fact" - The Oxford Times

"Clever, untelevised sketch comedy groups such as Oxford's The Awkward Silence" - The Independent

"mediocre" ★★★ - Oxford Theatre Review

Our second half of the night will feature wonderful comedy from the following:

- PAUL FUNG

An incredible comic mind and hugely underrated stand-up.

- GEORGE CHOPPING

"had the audience in fits ... hilarious" - Daily Info

- RORY & TIM

★★★★ "Their sketches have legs other comics only dream of" - ThreeWeeks

- LIAM SHAW

Couldn't find any quotes, but he was on University Challenge recently so bloody hell. Ooh - writes The Oxymoron as well, which is hilarious (www.theoxymoron.co.uk).
