SUMMARY

Jacob Weston wants to make music, but he also wants to make... it. His golden ticket to fame is provided on a silver platter by a major record producer, and his rise is glorious - but it comes at a price. Jake must let himself be milked for all he's worth. In the process, he forgets himself and puts his trust in this surface world of fame. But fame is a fickle lover, the golden ticket is gilded, and Jake must learn to face the music.

'Jake's Progress' is a satirical and sharply hilarious piece of new writing by Richard O'Brien, accompanied by original music from Matt Kennedy. Taking place in a self-consciously theatrical world, it ruminates on modern consumerist musical culture, critiques our own follies, and above all makes us laugh.
