SUMMARY

Four actresses voice Shakespeare's women and the responses they have provoked in this ONE-OFF performance. Travelling from Juliet to Carol Ann Duffy, from Rosalind to Virginia Woolf, the cast will explore the critical and political battleground of Shakespeare's women. Sigh no more, ladies! We aim to find out:

If frailty's name is woman, what's her surname? Is she married?

If you're actually unsexing me here, can we at least find a more private corner?

What is the woman's part that tends to vice in men and whose fault is that really?

Why only the second best bed?

Set in Blackwell's impressive Norrington room, this fast paced, energetic performance piece will focus on how Shakespeare wrote women and how these women have been read, voiced and answered.

Tickets can be obtained by telephoning or visiting the Customer Service Department, Second Floor, Blackwell Bookshop, Oxford. Telephone 01865 333623.
